Course Description
To provide a solid foundation for spiritual formation, it is necessary to explore the history and theology of spiritual formation, examining its development within the Christian tradition from biblical times to the present. Students will engage with key theological concepts, practices, and historical movements that have shaped Christian spirituality from the Early Church to the Modern Period. The course focuses on how theological reflection, historical understanding, and spiritual disciplines contribute to the process of personal and communal transformation into Christlikeness. Through readings, discussions, and experential practices, students will critically analyze the intersection of theology, history, and spiritual formation to apply these principles in contemporary contexts.
